How to apply

Students wishing to apply for entry into Honours in BBE should follow these three steps:

1. Find a project
You should consult the list of available projects that are being offered by academic staff in CISAB.  We also encourage students to approach academic staff with relevant interests and expertise to discuss their ideas for novel projects.

2. Find a supervisor
To be able to undertake your preferred Honours project you must seek the support of the member of academic staff who is offering the project.

You should contact your potential supervisor by e-mail.  In your e-mail you should (a) cite the available project in which you are interested, (b) briefly summarise your skills and experience that would enable you to successfully complete the project, (c) supply an electronic copy of your most up to date academic results, and (d) provide your contact details.  Your potential supervisor may need to speak to you further to assess your suitability for the project.

Due to competition for projects, we encourage students to have two project preferences offered by different potential supervisors.

You may not be considered for Honours in BBE if you have not negotiated a project with a potential supervisor.

3. Lodge an application
You will not be made a firm offer of enrolment for Honours in BBE if you have not submitted an application for admission to the Macquarie University Coursework Studies Section.  Application forms and due dates are available on the Coursework Studies Section Honours website.

When completing the application form, name your potential supervisor(s), numbered in order of preference, as the staff member with whom you have discussed your Honours program.

You should contact potential supervisor(s) well before applications are due at the Coursework Studies Section.
